Herbal Ingredients of Ban Xia Bai Zhu Tian Ma Tang

Ban Xia (Rhizoma Pinelliae Tematae, Pinellia Rhizome)

- 4.5g. -dries dampness, transform phlegm, direct Qi downwards

Tian Ma (Rhizoma Gastrodiae Elatae, Gastrodia Rhizome)

- 3g. -transforms phlegm, clears wind, eliminates headache and dizziness

Bai Zhu (Rhizoma Atractyloids Macrocephaelae, White Atractylodes Rhizome)

- 9g. -tonify spleen, dry dampness

Ju Hong (Pars Rubra Epicarpii Citri Erythocarpae, Red Part of the Tangerine Peel)

- 3g. -regulates Qi, transform phlegm

Fu Ling (Sclerotium Poriae Cocos,China Root, Poria, Hoelen)

- 3g. -tonify spleen, drains dampness

Gan Cao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Uralensis, Licorice Root)

- 1.5g. -harmonize herbs within formula, regulates middle jiao

Sheng Jiang (Rhizoma Zingiberis Officinalis Recens, Fresh Ginger Rhizome)

- 1 slice -harmonize stomach and spleen

Da Zao (Fructus Ziziphi Jujubae, Chinese Date, Jujube)

Cooking Preparation of Ban Xia Bai Zhu Tian Ma Tang
This natural Herbal formula is generally prepared in decoction form. Ju Hong (Tangerine Peel) is usually replaced with Chen Pi (Mandarin Peel). Today's practitioners use greater dosages in all the above ingredients except that of Bai Zhu when preparing this decoction.
