Chinese Herbal Medicine

Herbal medicine is one of the most essential elements of Traditional
Chinese Medicine, and provides an important compliment to acupuncture treatment. While acupuncture stimulates the flow of energy and blood, herbal formulas are designed to nourish and replenish deficiencies in the metabolic, endocrine and immune systems.

In Western medicine pharmaceutical drugs are prescribed to treat a specific disease. Chinese herbal formulas, however, are individually compounded to treat the whole patient and their particular underlying disorder or deficiency. The formulas, which may contain up to 15 different herbs, generally contain both herbs to naturally increase general health and to deal with the specific ailment.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Herbal Formulas have been used to treat various disorders since the 3rd century BC (Qin Dynasty). They are still widely used throughout the world today. With today's ever changing societies Chinese Medicine is one of the few things that has stayed the same. Although traditional chinese medicine is generally referred to as alternative medicine, when history is taken into consideration the newer western philosophies for treatment should be considered alternative medicine.

TCM natural medicine Herbal formulas are created by looking at each individual Herbal ingredient and its properties. These Herbal properties are analyzed to see how it interacts with all the other herbs within each formula. A formulas natural Herbal ingredients must be balanced both with it's properties and it's dosages to be able to correct the imbalance or Dis-Ease within each patient.

These natural Herbal formulas have been prescribed un-changed or prescribed and modified for thousands of years. Each natural Herbal formula must properly fit each persons TCM diagnosis to provide consistent positive results.
