Herbal Ingredients of Da Chai Hu Tang

Chai Hu (Radix Bupleuri, Hare's Ear Root, Thorowax Root)

- 24g. -vents shao yang heat, regulates Qi

Huang Qin (Radix Scutellariae Baicalensis, Baical Skullcap Root, Scutellaria, Scute)

- 9g. -clears heat from the liver and gallbladder

Zhi Shi (Fructus Immaturus Citri Aurantii, Immature Fruit of Bitter Orange)

- 6 -9g. -regulates Qi, breaks up Qi stagnation, reduces distention and fullness

Da Huang (Radix et Rhizome Rhei, Rhubarb Root and Rhizome)

- 6g. -drains excess stomach and gallbladder heat through bowel movements, moves blood stasis

Bai ShaoYao (Radix Paeoniae Lactiflorae, White Peony Root, Peony)

Cooking Preparation of Da Chai Hu Tang
Add all the natural herbs from this formula to 12 cups of water and boil down till 6 cups remain. The decoction is strained so all ingredients are removed and then the decoction is boiled again until 3 cups reMain. The decoction is taken warm in 1 cups doses 3 times per day.
