Main Action of Dang Gui Bu Xue Tang
The functions of this TCM Herbal formula are to tonify the Qi and generate blood. The formula is best suited in conditions of consumptive fatigue (lao juan). This condition is caused by injury to the yuan Qi leading to both ying Qi and blood becoming deficient. Yin will not be able to control yang and the yang Qi will rise or float to the superficial areas of the body.

Herbal Ingredients of Dang Gui Bu Xue Tang

Huang Qi (Radix Astragali Membranaceus, Milk-vetch Root, Astragalus)

- 30g. -tonify spleen and lung Qi, reinforces source of blood

Dang Gui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis, Chinese Angelica Root, Tang -kuei)

- 6g. -tonify and invigorate blood, tonify Qi

This Herbal formula is also used for bleeding due to Qi deficiency. In Chinese medicine Qi controls blood and when Qi is deficient it is unable to keep blood flowing within it's vessels. This alternative medicine formula is found in many other formulas such as Gui Pi Tang (Restore the Spleen Decoction), Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang (Tonify the middle and Augment the Qi Decoction), Dang Gui Liu Huang Tang (Tangkuei and Six Yellow Decoction), Bu Yang Huang Wu Tang (Tonify the Yang and Restore Five Tenths Decoction).

When the appropriate symptoms are present this Herbal formula is able to treat such diseases as anemia, allergic purpura, thrombocytopenic purpura, functional uterine bleeding, leukopenia and neurasthenia.
