Main Action of Hu Qian Wan
The functions of this TCM Herbal formula are to nourish the yin fluids, causes fire to descend and strengthens the sinews and bones. This chinese medicine formula is best suited for conditions of atrophy due to liver and kidney deficiency. There will be deficiency heat and deficiency of blood and essence leading to poor nourishment of both the sinews and bones.

Jiu Chao Huang Bai (Wine Fried Cortex Phellodendri, Amur Cork Tree Bark, Phellodendron)

Chao Zhi Mu (Wine Fried Rhizoma Anemarrhenae Asphodeloidis, Anemarrhena Rhizome)

Cooking Preparation of Hu Qian Wan
When preparing this natural medicine formula Hu Gu (Tiger Bone) is not used and another herb is used to replace this endangered species. The ingredients within this Herbal formula should be ground into a fine powder and rolled into pills using wine. Each dosage should be 9 grams and taken with honey. Each dosage should be taken every morning and every evening with salted warm water. The dosage is usually reduced when the formula is decocted.

This formula is a modification of Da Bu Yin Wan (Great tonify the Yin Pill) wich is primarily used to treat deficiency fire. Hu Qian Wan will nourish essences and blood while strengthening the bones and sinews.
