Herbal Ingredients of Yin Chen Hao Tang
Yin Chen hao (Herba Artemisiae Yinchenhao, yinchenhao shoots and leaves, Capillaris)
- 18g. -alleviates damp heat, treats jaundice
Zhi Zi (Fructus Gardeniae Jasminoidis, Cape Jasmine Fruit, Gardenia)
- 9g. -clears heat from all 3 jiao, induces urination (diuretic)
Da Huang (Radix et Rhizoma Rhei, Rhubarb Root)
- 6g. -purges heat through intestines, induces bowel movements, invigorates blood
Cooking Preparation of Yin Chen Hao Tang
This Herbal formula should be decocted by using twice the dosage as listed above. The increase in dosage is generally practiced today for treating jaundice. Shu Da Huang may be substituted for Da Huang.
