Main Action of Zhu Jing Wan
The functions of this Chinese medicine Herbal formula is to tonify the liver and kidneys, nourish the yin and improve vision. The formula is mainly suited for conditions of poor vision due to liver and kidney deficiency with dampness due to poor fluid metabolism. As the eyes are dependant on liver blood and kidney essence in order to be properly nourished if either of these are deficient there will be eye disorders. Tu Si Zi (Semen Cuscutae Chinensis, Chinese Dodder Seeds, Cuscuta)
- 150g. -tonify liver and kidneys
Shu Di Huang (Rehmanniae Glutinosae Conquitae, Rehmannia)
- 120g. -nourish yin fluids, tonify kidneys, nourish liver blood
Che Qian Zi (Semen Plantaginis, Plantago Seeds)
- 60g. -promotes fluid metabolism, drains dampness, improves vision
Cooking Preparation of Zhu Jing Wan
When preparing this Chinese medicine Herbal formula all ingredients should be ground into a fine powder and formed into pills with honey. Each dosage should be from 6 -12 grams before meals and taken with soup made with Fu Ling (Sclerotium Poriae) and Shi Chang Pu (Rhizoma Acori Gramminei). Zhu Jing Wan may also be prepared as a decoction using only one -tenth of the dosage indicated above.
