Herbal Ingredients of Liu Wei Di Huang Wan

Shu Di Huang (Rehmanniae Glutinosae Conquitae, Rehmannia (cooked))

- 240g. -tonify kidney yin and essense

Shan Zhu Yu (Fructus Corni Officinalis, Asiatic Comelian Cherry Fruit, Cornus)

- 120g. -nourish liver, stops essence leakage

ShanYao (Radix Dioscoreae Oppositae, Chinese Yam, Dioscorea)

- 120g. -stabilizes essence, tonify spleen

Mu Dan Pi (Cortex Moutan Radicis, Cortex of the Tree Peony Root, Moutan)

- 90g. -clears liver fire

Fu Ling (Sclerotium Poriae Cocos, China -root, Poria, Hoelen)

Cooking Preparation of Liu Wei Di Huang Wan
Grind all natural Herbal ingredients into a fine powder and form into pills (wan) with honey and take 9 gram doses 3 times per day. This Herbal formula is generally prepared using one tenth of the dosage listed above.

Additional Information on Liu Wei Di Huang Wan
This TCM Herbal formula is made up of two types of herbs. The first group of herbs tonify while the second group of herbs has a draining function. This formula is a modification of Shen Qi Wan with the Yang tonifying herbs omitted. This Chinese Herbal formula is used to treat the following diseases when the appropriate symptoms are present: neurasthenia, pulmonary tuberculosis, diabetes mellitus, hyperthyroidism, chronic nephritis, chronic glomerulonephritis, urinary tract infection, hypertension, functional uterine bleeding, optic neuritis, optic nerve atrophy and cen ral retinitis.
