Latin name: Radix Aucklandiae Lappae

Mu Xiang Also Known As: Costus Root, Auckland Costus, Mokko, Mokkou, Mu Xiang. Saussurea lappa, synonym Aucklandia costus. Family: Asteraceae or Compositae.

Properties: PUNGENT, BITTER - WARM

Dosage: 1.5-9g.

Meridians/Channels: GALLBLADDER, LARGE INTESTINE, STOMACH

  • promote movement of Qi, alleviate pain (stomach and abdominalPain), TENESMUS
  • regulates Stagnated Qi in intestines, clears damp heat
  • Jaundice, Dysentery, Diarrhea
  • strengten spleen, digestive disorders

Also Used For: Orally, costus root is used as an anti-nematode therapy.
