Ren Shen (Radix Ginseng, Ginseng Root)

- 3 -9g. -tonify spleen Qi

Bai Zhu (Rhizoma Atractyloids Macrocephaeiae, Atractylodes (white) Rhizome)

- 6 -9g. -tonify spleen, dry dampness

Fu Ling (Sclerotium Poriae Cocos, China -root, Poria, Hoelen)

- 6 -9g. -tonify spleen, dry dampness

Gan Cao (Radix Glycyrrhizae Uralensis, Licorice Root)

- 3 -6g. -tonify Qi, harmonize

 

Cooking Preparation of Si Jun Zi Tang
When preparing this alternative medicine formula grind equal amounts of each herb into a powder and prepare as adecoction. Each dosage should be 6 grams and taken as a draft.

This Herbal formula is a base formula for spleen Qi deficiency and is sometimes referred to as a modified formula from Li Zhong Wan (Regulate the Middle Pill) when Fu Ling is substituted for Gan Jiang.
