Nose Boil
A nose boil may also be known as a nose furuncle, nasal boil or nasal furuncle. A nose boil occurs when a hair follicle becomes infected. There are many types of boils occuring on the back, chest or even ear. The infected follicle often occures within the nose or nasal area creating a localized area of dead tissue, pus, redness and pain. If there are several infected follicles (boils) occuring together this creates a carbuncle. An abscess is similar to that of a boil as they are both pus filled sores within the body but a boil always is an infected hair follicle while an abscess can be any cavity filled with pus.

The boils usually begin with mild signs such as itching or mild discomfort. This discomfort slowly progress's to a more painful condition as the swelling increases.
